There is some wear to it. Please note that this headboard has been used with both full and queen mattresses. The original slats are 53-3/4" apart. There are holes drilled 57-3/4" apart, and 51-3/4" apart. The 57-3/4" will hold your queen mattress, although it will be a tad bit larger than the headboard. By the time I put bedding on, no one ever had anything but rave reviews. The headboard measures 58-1/2" wide by 36-1/4" tall by 1-1/4" deep. See less
