In this 12" x 9" figurative oil painting, a beautiful nude woman sits at a dressing table with her back exposed. The room has a sense of luxury and texture with simple details.
A palette of jewel tone colors creates richness in this expressive oil painting. Dramatic contrasts add attention and excitement to the portrayal of a womans back - it's curves and blend of soft pinks and violets capture a sense of vulnerable warm delight. The paintings lines are plain and focused with a spontaneity and elegance.
The painting was inspired by a painting done by Matisse which I resonated with.
I loved the femininity that circulated the room. In working my own interpretation, I let my imagination go, making changes to the interior of the room and coloring of the space while holding the young woman as the center of attention.
This painting was created on a masonite panel in oils and is ready for framing. less
