Hand-carved circa 1750, the doors feature deep, sinuous moldings, reminiscent of the curvaceous motifs seen during the reign of Louis XV. The amazing doors have a rich brown patina that accentuates the charm of the carvings, which are also enhanced by the visible screws used to join the pieces of walnut wood.

Comprised of five carved panels per door, each carving is similar: a rough rectangle with rounded ends and barbed counter curves. The three smaller panels are orientated horizontally, surrounding the two larger and vertically arranged panels. A thickly scrolled bronze pull can be seen on each door, also functioning as door knockers (the door on the right has commensurate wear from the pull striking the wood). Because these Spanish entry doors were inspired by French ebenistes, they are highly versatile. They can be used in houses with either Spanish or French décor, or even in more contemporary homes. Visitors will be amazed at the depth of the carvings as they approach these fabulous entry doors. They can also be used as doors in a courtyard or an entrance to a wine cellar. less
