It consisted of 222 large-scale … Read more Prideaux John Selby’s Illustrations of British Ornithology was published in Edinburgh from 1821 to 1834. It consisted of 222 large-scale engravings that were beautifully engraved by Selby himself. In the early 20th century - acclaimed antique print collector, Paul Victorius of Charlottesville, VA purchased many of these original copper plates from Europe and created restrikes and had them beautifully hand colored.
