This Andy Warhol rare vintage limited edition large fine art lithograph print " Debbie Harry " 1980, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
the fine art lithograph print is published by The Carnegie Museum of Art ( CMOA ) in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the city of Warhol's birthplace. Printed in a series of limited edition color lithograph prints by the museum in 1986. The print is signed in the plate, hand numbered 763/2400 from the edition of 2400, CMOA stamp on the reverse bak side. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1980 titled " Debbie Harry ".
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
Warhol's portrait of Debbie Harry, the renowned lead singer of the New Wave band Blondie, is one of the artist's most iconic works. The singer posed for Warhol in his New York studio in 1980. The artwork is unique in the enigmatic identity of its subject and the bold directness of its allure as a mirror of its time. Debbie Harry truly achieved a status as an icon of popular culture and the portrait reaffirms both her and Warhol's place at the apex of celebrity. She epitomized the celebrity fame that infatuated Warhol. Her fame, her beauty, and their friendship, made the rockstar a perfect muse for the artist.
The rare out of print large lithograph print measures 23 1/2" W X 23 1/2" H. It is printed on high quality heavyweight premium paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a matte finish.
