A very interesting geographic and political history collectible, this Cram's Universal Terrestrial 10 1/2 inch world globe captured the world just after the formation of Israel in May 1948 and before the formal division of West and East Germany in May 1949.
Additional archaic political designations include Bechuanaland, Belgian Congo, Burma, Ceylon, French West Africa, Indochina, North Rhodesia, Spanish Sahara, and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
The vintage globe shows wear consistent with its age and use including dust soiling to the paper gores, dings and scuffs and some minor areas of paper loss.
