An extraordinary piece of American Art Nouveau silver, the Unger Brothers sterling hand mirror in the 'Reine des Fleurs' (Queen of the Flowers) pattern. Pat dated for 1903. This mirror is a testament to the renowned craftsmanship of the Unger Brothers, known for producing the highest quality silverwork during that era.
The hand mirror is a stunning creation, skillfully executed in three-dimensional silver-work. It features a portrait of the 'Reine des Fleurs,' depicted picking flowers in a beautiful landscape, with her flowing hair forming the elegant handle of the mirror. The front of the mirror is adorned with an elaborate script monogram of 'ELM,' adding a elegant historical touch to the work.
On the reverse side, there is a 5-inch diameter beveled mirror, continuing the flowing design from the front. The attention to detail and artistic execution in this piece is truly exceptional.
The hand mirror is extensively marked for sterling, bearing the Unger Bros. hallmark twice, as well as the stamps indicating 925 fine silver. It also boasts a patent date of June 30, 1903, along with the unique serial number #0618.
