Plane itself is maple with steel accents and ribbon lined plastic wings as shades mounted to a tubular brass angled support atop stepped stained oak and mahogany base with black painted rim. Non-adjustable - airplane sits fixed at an angle though about to take flight.
A similar, slightly smaller example sold at the September 5, 2013 Christie's "Out of the Ordinary" auction.
Very clean condition with patina/light tarnish to the unpolished brass and steel and a few small scuffs to the wood. Remarkable shape for its age/use, particularly compared with every other documented example.
Wiring, sockets, and cord are newly replaced.
