This antique print of a male pheasant was published in 1870 by Cornelius Noseman and Christiaan Sepp. It comes from a book entitled "Nederlandsche Vogelen” in English that translates to Dutch Birds. The book was published in Amsterdam in 1870 but because it was published in installments the book was not finally finished until 1829 and it was the first comprehensive book of birds for the Netherlands.
This is a very special print so I wanted to frame it in a very special way. I made a G clay image of a French mat that I designed in Photoshop and printed it on cotton rag paper which I then wrapped around another museum grade mat. We found a beautiful antique frame from around 1870 we then framed the print into. This piece is 29 and a quarter tall by 34 3/8 wide the frame is 3 1/4 inches deep and four inches wide the mat opening is approximately 18 by 13. less
