This Modigliani rare vintage 1980's lithograph print custom framed poster " Madame Georges Van Muyden " 1917, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print poster is printed in the 1980's. It features an original portrait artwork created by Modigliani in 1917 titled " Madame Georges Van Muyden ".
This is an unusual work for the artist as the original is quite possibly one of a small number of portraits Modigliani painted as a commission, since his models generally belonged to his circle of fellow bohemians. These circumstances account for the more composed, elegant, and self - possessed nature of the subject.
Amedeo Clemente Modigliani ( 1884 - 1920 ) was an Italian born Expressionist painter and sculptor of a Sephardic jewish background. Known for his portraits and nudes in a Modern style characterized by elongation of faces and figures. The outstanding unclassifiable artworks are widely considered to be some of the most important early Modern artworks ever created.
The rare vintage framed lithograph print poster measures 18 3/4" W X 24" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a classic Modern gold bronze matte satin finish metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
