When I first saw this piece I thought of the French painter Marine Edith Crosta, known for her miniature tondi depicting stormy seascape's.

Bio:
John Thomson is an abstract painter / gallery owner living in the Monterey Bay of California five months of the year, and in Mexico or the Caribbean where he lives and paints seven months of the year.

During the past forty years his paintings, drawings, prints, ceramics, and color photographs have been exhibited by many leading galleries and design firms through out the United States and abroad. Over 4000 of his abstract creations are represented in private and public collections.
