This is an antique Burmese offering vessel or urn with a matching pedestal, which is rare to find. The gorgeous red lacquer wooden vessel is a gorgeous statement piece -- eye-catching anywhere you choose to display it.
Offering vessels like this one would have been found in temples. This particular one, circa late 1800s, is simply stunning from it's spindle top to the handcrafted detail throughout the base. It's a large piece that would add international drama to any space.
Both the vessel and the pedestal are in great shape for their age with only light damage commensurate with age (as pictured). The lid still fits snugly on the bowl and all three pieces are sturdy and structurally sound. All in all, in great shape for its age. This big bold piece is a conversation starter for sure! I have another vessel similar to this one as well ... in case you need a pair!
This is a large piece. The vessel itself measures about 24" tall and the pedestal is 8" tall and 23" in diameter. So vessel and pedestal combined stand about 32" tall. less
