A twist of a thumb screw on the back allows the screen to be raised or lowered; the portable three-footed wooden base has been elegantly carved, with a turned wood finial on top.

The embroidery section measures approximately 13 1/4 inches square, with the frame measuring 15 1/4 inches wide and 15 3/8 inches tall; with the ornate frame corners, the panel measures 16 3/8 inches wide and tall. The panel can be adjusted so that the bottom of the panel rests from approximately 20 inches off the ground up to 36 1/4 inches; item to top of finial is approximately 55 1/2 inches tall.
