This bowl was made in the manner of Muller and a host of other makers, but it's unsigned (as so many of them were).

The mounting hardware is original and elegant, with its dark antique patina (waxed to give it some luster). Rewired and fitted with one American standard-based socket which can take any size or wattage bulb you choose to use.

Our French friends from that magic era weren't always attentive to exacting detail, which in this instance means that the three holes drilled in the glass, for mounting the hardware, aren't exactly equidistant from each other. Amazing! Were the holes drilled after lunch, when Pierre had more than his customary half bottle of wine? In any case, the impact is minor, resulting in the bowl's hanging ever-so-slightly on a tilt, so minor that it's essentially unnoticeable. I mention it only in the spirit of "total transparency," my credo as a seller.

The bowl hangs at 25 inches as shown; links can be taken out so that it hangs a shorter distance from the ceiling. The bowl is about 13 3/4 across, the standard 35 cm for these French lighting bowls. less
