Paul Klee ( 1879 - 1940 ) The Swiss born Modernist artist is attributed to creating some of the most original and colorful paintings of The Twentieth Century. Klee was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany. His work reflects the ideas of Symbolism, Expressionism, Cubism, as well the simplicity of The Bauhaus designs. Artworks by Klee are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

This beautiful intimate scale book traces the course of Klee's artistic career in 91 full-color lithograph print reproductions. His greatest and most provocative works are included, as well as many lesser known and equally as significant paintings. Accompanying the illustrations are extensive notes and an authoritative introduction providing essential facts and fundamental criticism of Klee's development, thought and achievement.
