This Franz Kline rare vintage 1987 lithograph print Abstract Expressionist " Pafinvest Studio Marconi " Italian exhibition poster is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print exhibition poster is published by The Studio Marconi Gallery, printed in Italy in 1987 in an unnumbered limited edition for the Milan Gallery exhibition. The rare out of print poster features an original Abstract Expressionist artwork by the artist Franz Kline.
Franz Kline ( 1910 - 1962 ) was an American painter associated with the Mid Century Modern Abstract Expressionist movement. Kline, along with other " Action Painters " like Jackson Pollock, Willem De Kooning, Robert Motherwell and Lee Krasner, as well as local poets, dancers, and musicians came to be known as the informal group, " The New York School ". Although he explored the same innovations to painting as other artists in the group, Kline's work is distinct and has been revered since the 1950's. he is recognized as one of the most important artists of the Abstract Expressionist movement. His artworks have been the subject of many international exhibitions, and are held in the permanent collections of the most prestigious museums worldwide.
The rare out of print Abstract Expressionist exhibition poster measures 32 1/2" W X 27" H. It is printed on heavyweight high quality smooth finish paper stock with a satin finish. It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. It has never been framed. There is very light minor surface wear on the upper top right corner.
