This striking and beautifully carved mantel has substantial corbel form jams with acanthus leaf and bead pattern adorning the front, and intricate ellipses and foliate decoration on the sides. There are rosettes on the front and sides of the cornerblocks. The highly decorated breakfront frieze has stop fluted flanking panels and a central tablet with a delicate rinceau motif. Elaborate cornice incorporates multiple classical string course patterns and a fluted edge. less
