Upon close examination, the velvet fabric shows that someone loved this chair and spent a lot of time sitting in it. You can tell by the difference in color between the cushions and the upholstery on the seat under the cushions. There’s a couple of super small minor dings on the legs that you’ve really got to look for. Overall a gorgeous chair in excellent condition. less

Sinking into the plush velvet cushions of this Regency style vintage Kimball chair may inspire you to purchase a smoking jacket, silk pajamas, fluffy slippers, and multiple bottles of the finest booze in the land. Needless to say, if you’re a smoker, you NEED this chair!
The ticket information on the bottom of the chair shows it was custom made. Whoever the mystery customer was had impeccable taste and the wherewithal to travel to and/or call the amazing Kimball folks in Montgomery, Alabama to create this chair, and it is beautiful!
The original owner took great pride in ordering something so lovely and took great care of the chair: The caning is in perfect condition. The velvet cushions are the most beautiful blue; whoever owned it really loved this chair and spent a lot of time sitting in it, as you can see when you compare the cushion color to the velvet upholstery on the seat underneath the cushion. We have provided a picture so you can compare the difference in color. L & P were so starstruck when this chair arrived down at the Donkeycow Design Barn that neither one of us noticed the fading in the velvet for quite awhile— we were too busy oohing and aahing over how beautiful it is.
When filling out the dimensions of the chair, we provided the measurements at the largest point. Please see pictures with tape measure for more specific information about the dimensions of the chair. For depth, you can see that the distance from the front leg to the back leg is 24 inches; however, if you’re going to push it up against the wall, you have to account for the extra space needed to accommodate the sloped back so that would be 27 inches. The seat width is 25.5 inches at the front and tapers down to 18.5 at the back. less
