The most accurate representation of the color of this piece is the first photograph with a gold cast. This marble dust and resin relief is a reproduction of a bronze plaque created in 1859 by French metalworker, Ferdinand Barbedienne. The relief shows Diana, the Greek goddess of the moon and hunt, with her nymphs at archery target practice. This piece is a late 19th century reproduction with an early 20th century burled wood frame.
This piece is in good original condition with discoloration of the material and some minor losses to some of the high points (see detail of dog’s ear.)
