Mid-20th Century MCM (Mid-Century Modern) Swiss design Omega blonde oak dining tables attributed to Hans Eichenberger with cylindrical chrome tube T shape legs 4 selling separately. This piece has been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials; however, it is not signed or marked in any way. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, these have been stripped and sanded and given a clear coat of poly BUT each has their own remaining age-related marks on the top i.e. scratches too deep to sand out and dark spots. NOTE: These tables have a bracket that can be attached to “gang” them together either end to end or side to side. We will include these brackets when multiple table purchase is made.

These Omega tables were designed by iconic Hans Eichenberger and are comprised of rectangular beautiful blonde oak tabletops and gorgeous thick chrome tubular T-shaped sled style legs. Simple, clean lines, gorgeous wood grain, and bursting with oh-so-much-impeccable-style!!!! WOW!!! The original design dates back to the 1950-1960’s and is still sought after today. Hans Eichenbrger was born in 1926 and is a furniture and interior designer based in Herrenschwanden, near Bern. The early 1950s, after training as a carpenter, took him to Paris where he was part of a dynamic cultural milieu that impacted his life and career significantly; and when he returned to Switzerland he began his undeniable impact on 20th century Swiss design history. He collaborated with Trix and Robert Haussmann, Kurt Thut, teo jakob, and Alfred Hablutzel under the name of Swiss Design, as well as Atelier 5. These collaborations and his design projects for Swiss National Bank, the Kunstmuseum Bern, and the SBB are linked to the making of modern Switzerland. His work is included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, and the Museum fur Gestaltung Zurich. He won many awards and influenced designers in multiple generations and is still going strong.
