David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to The Pop Art Movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The Twentieth Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

This important volume was published at the height of Hockney's initial international acclaim. It offers diverse and wide ranging examples of the artist's work, from early sketches and paintings to his innovative colored paper pulp masterpieces.
