The porcelain ginger jar has been glazed in a thick, shiny, mirror black reflective glaze. It has a raised unglazed foot and a white glazed base. The glaze has flowed onto the foot and was chipped off in places. The paste is refined, condensed and white. The mouth is also not glazed. The interior has a white glaze.

MEASUREMENTS

7” (17.8 cm) diameter x 7” (17.8 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 13.4 oz (1285 g)

CONDITION

There is a long crack from the mouth and a second crack on the opposite side. They both appear to have been repaired at the mouth and stabilized. There are no other damages or repairs. The glaze is still shiny and reflective. There is no lid.
