The technique employed incorporates fusing powdered glass to metal (in this case, copper) to create a beautiful work of enamel art. The decoration, an asymmetrical, abstract smattering of irregular-circles and 'splatters,' almost has a jewel-like appearance with rich luster / sheen. The simple form and relatively small size (7.5" diameter) are contrasted with the vivid colors and nice texture that the pattern introduces.
A beautiful piece of enamel that can be used for display purposes or as a soap / keys / jewelry dish.
Excellent, vintage condition.
Unsigned, but likely designed by a notable California enamelist.
