Find yourself in the beauty of the rural countryside and its wonderous color in this expressive 16" x 20" landscape oil painting. The vibrant nature of lavender fields are the focus of this artwork and are seen descending into the distance of the terrain. A palette of rich and imaginative colors bring a wonderous sense of delight.
Simplistic shapes and bold textures, together with saturated and prismatic colors express the inviting nature of being among the fields on a simple farmstead with an expansive look out into the horizon. The palette is fresh and vibrant with beautiful shades of green, contrasting oranges, touches of yellow and violet, all under the blue and white cloud studded sky.
The painting draws upon the senses and an ability to imagine. One might dream of the robust fragrance of lavender floating in the air and the touch of being outdoors under a cool blue sky and enjoying all of it.
The painting was inspired by several trips to Carousel Lavender Farm in Bucks County, PA. It was one of the most beautiful farms to experience and I loved painting there. less
