Interesting design 1940s English writing bureau with drawers and twin flank display cabinets, made by Cooperative Wholesale Society for Wigan Co-op as noted to rear of the piece.
Glass shelves, original leather inside drop down deskfront, drawer within bureau along with correspondence slots, and three spacious drawers on Queen Anne style legs, in excellent condition.
Nice carvings to the door trims, low gallery back to top shelves, keys present for the cabinets.
Piece is possibly earlier, 1930s, when CWS added larger machining capabilities for cabinet manufacturing.
Lovely display piece, useful, and quite a cool design. less
