Solid single board top connects to a narrow waist continuing on to straight legs with hoof feet. The waist is carved with thin slits of "open light" within two narrow oval features. Elaborate carvings on all four sides start with a shallow relief of interlocking scrolls followed by bold, pierced carvings depicting clouds and waves under which a polychrome scene of birds and peonies is highlighted. Beautiful black lacquer. Heavy set, strong robust structure. With 21" width, these versatile, artistic pieces can be used as tables, stools and stands to enhance any interior. See less
