Description: A very rich pair of gilt bronze ormolu sconces ( possibly 18th century given the quality of the gold gilding … more A very rich pair of gilt bronze ormolu sconces ( possibly 18th century given the quality of the gold gilding which is original and appears much like gold leaf ) with chinoiserrie figures on each sconce ( each sconce by design has a different figure and it's a perfect correct pair ) . Very detailed and refined typical of the very highest end of Louis IV French antiques, see my images for the crisp execution of each sconce ( you can even see the tiny hairs of the gentleman's mustache in gilt bronze). less
