This clock, similar in design to the highly collectible Toyo Clox, Rhythm and Tokyo branded mantel clocks, thus HES clock considerably more rare, especially in this fabulous, era correct turquoise blue color
This is a 24 hour, winding, alarm clock with a loud alarm. The clock was tested against my iPhone and keep time accurately.
The circular black face sits on a long streamline, acrylic base with slanted triangular feet on either side The alarm snooze button is located on the top of the face.
The winged design is in keeping with the pop art look of this era, as found on 1950's cars, like the Cadillac, and other objects, especially radios and bicycles.
The black face, turquoise and off-white body are detailed in brass and gold colors
The clock will be professionally buffed to the high, original shiny finish.
There is some very minor pitting on metal and dirt/discoloration on edges commensurate with age. No cracks or chips The face crystal has no scratches or fogginess
The facial markings seem to be a glow in the dark style but this is untested
The snooze button will only turn off the alarm when depressed but when you release it, the alarm will continue to ring until it’s completely unwound
The alarm works but the alarm knob is missing on the back. See photo.
The clock was produced, in very limited numbers, by the HES Clock Company of India.
I am not sure how many days or hours a completed winding of the clock lasts. It coukd be 8 day or 24 hours, but lm not sure.
Truly a spectacular, whimsical and unique collectible.
