Stunning, large vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso purple "Alexandrite" glass over red Italian art glass footed flower vase. Documented to the Seguso Vetri d'Arte company, circa 1963, recently found on the published archives, model number 13484 (see photo). I had previously attributed the vase to designer Antonio da Ros for Cenedese, but the illustrated vase on the catalog pages makes this new documentation certain. The vase is created with a Neodymium glass outer layer, which changes color in daylight to indoor light. In this case, the color changes from a lavender-pink to aqua-green (see 2nd to last photo). Would make a great display piece on any credenza, dresser or table. Mid-century era. The vase measures 12 1/2" tall x 6 1/2" long x 4 1/2" wide
