Description: An original oil painting on artist' board by Ken B. Hancock, British artist 1925-2014, "The Rance River, Brittany, France", a … more An original oil painting on artist' board by Ken B. Hancock, British artist 1925-2014, "The Rance River, Brittany, France", a misty scene of a majestic row of trees along a bend in the Rance River, a forested area on the far bank, a meadow to the right, 14" x 18", signed K.B. Hancock in the lower right corner front, CA number 3927, CA purchased from a southwest of England auction house summer of 2023. The work was probably executed in the 1980's or 90's.
The painting has been cleaned and varnished in order to protect the paint film.
Th frame has ben replaced with 1 1/2" original Abe Munn antiqued silver Italian reproduction moulding. The moulding is antiqued and distressed.
The artist was born in Alcester, England in 1925, studied at the Academie Juliens, Paris and lived and worked in St. Ives, Cornwall for much of his life. He was a Member of La Societe Nationale des beaux Arts (Peris Salon). less
