A true classic, this Orrefors crystal bowl, "Thousand Windows", was designed by the renowned artist, Simon Gate (1883-1945). The bowl is footed with the signature etched on the bottom. It is perfectly faceted and looks amazing on a variety of surfaces.
The "Thousand Windows" crystal bowl is in excellent condition, free from any nicks or scratches.
Orrefors Glasbruk, founded in 1898, is a highly regarded Swedish glassworks company known worldwide for its excellent quality crystal products.
Simon Gate joined Orrefors in 1916 and was regarded as the most important artist and designer in Orrefors' history. Gate perfected the Graal technique which involved overlaying layers of glass to create a three-dimensional effect, like that displayed with the "Thousand Windows" design.
