An authentic and legitimate Worcester piece from the middle/third quarter of the 18th century
It is an example of the most sought-after wares produced by Worcester and has a splendid deep cobalt blue grounds
The grounds are decorated by hand with Japanese style designs, exotic birds, flower groups and insects in vivid colors with golden highlights
It displays extraordinarily fine painting and gilding
This early porcelain has a slightly cream/grey hue as it contains no or very little bone ash
Well marked with the Worcester blue mark imitating Chinese characters
Circa 18th century, 1751-1782, Dr. Wall period
Early Worcester porcelain is very scarce to find, especially the hand painted Japanese style pieces as the one presented here
