A most elegant French Louis XVI style giltwood wall mirror with beautiful hand carved details. This 19th Century period Louis XVI pier, console or wall mirror is simply stunning.
The mirror retains its original mirror plate framed within a fine Coeur de Rai border. The beautiful mottled frame displays richly carved block rosettes at each corner with superb richly carved tied interlocking foliate movements with lovely finely detailed leaves at the base and charming extremely decorative woven baskets with luxuriant flowers at each side tied with ribbons. At each side of the base are lovely tapered feet with lattice patterns and gilt accents. The striking pierced top crown is centered by a beautiful bundle of wheat and a sickle, arrows, a quiver, and an exceptional most decorative blooming floral wreath with charming rosettes and scrolled designs. All original gilt and magnificent patina throughout.
The finely gilt frame seemingly flawless in its elegance and style. A must have to add the finest reflection to any room in the home or office.
This mirror is very decorative and would enhance any wall or mantle in a space you deem appropriate.
