Two alluring and functional Mid Century Modern pepper shakers designed by William Wagenfeld German Bahaus Salt & Pepper Shakers, (1952-53)
I have two identical sets of two available. (Four 4, total)
Made with stainless steel and glass by Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, (Geislingen, Germany).
Pieces: salt shaker with lid, pepper shaker with lid.
This set of lovely modernist Bauhaus "Max & Moritz salt and pepper twins“ shakers are original vintage and from the 1950s. Designed by Prof. Wilhelm Wagenfeld, executed by WMF Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik Germany. Made of glass and cromargan stainless steel.
There both in very good functional condition.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. Although they have no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, the design is well-documented in design history.
Wilhelm Wagenfeld (15 April 1900, Bremen, German Empire — 28 May 1990, Stuttgart, West Germany) was a German industrial designer and former student of the Bauhaus art school. He designed glass and metal works for the Jenaer Glaswerk Schott & Gen., the Vereinigte Lausitzer Glaswerke in Weißwasser, Rosenthal, Braun GmbH and WMF.
