It is Rendered … Read more This Really is a Great Looking and Quite Unusual Antique French Majolica Novelty Pitcher. Circa Approx. 1900. It is Rendered in the "Topsy-Turvy" Design. When the Pitcher is as Used it Displays as Happy Man - Characters Face but When the Pitcher is Turned Upside Down it Displays as a Angry Grouch. In Addition The Base is Embossed with a Motto That I Could Not Decipher. It is Embossed Signed by the Much Sought After & Well Documented Company Sarreguemines. It Also has a Ink Stamp Germany Mark and my Research Confirms that Sarregueminse Company Also Had a Factory in Germany During the Very Late 19th to Early 20th Century. It is Beautifully Hand Decorated in Classic Victorian Majolica Colors that Include Cobalt Blue, Brown and Turquoise with a High Gloss Glaze.. It also has Nicely Molded - Sculpted Detailed Features. It is in Very Nice Cosmetic and Perfectly Strong, Sound and Usable Condition. It Has Some Age Related Surface Glaze Crazing this Being Typical and Quite Normal with This Type of Antique Majolica. Imperfection Noted - It has a Chip on The Underside of the Pouring Spout - This Can be Seen in Some of the Photographs in My Listing. It has No Cracks - No Repairs - Displays Beautifully..
It Measures Overall Approx. 8 3/4 inches Tall x 8 inches Long x 5 1/2 inches Wide.
