This is a large vintage carved linen chest. An Oriental, teak and camphorwood trunk with Art Deco taste, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.
Exquisite craftsmanship, profusely carved and of substantial proportion
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in very good order
Teak stocks show fine grain interest throughout
Presented with a quality wax polish finish over warm caramel hues
Striking depth to the relief carving, adorning all corners of the trunk
Carved foliate and leaf decor in distinctive layered effect
Naturally finished, dazzlingly clean interior offers the desirable aroma typical of camphorwood
Removable slide tray adds further useful storage space to the interior
Stout lid held securely by large brass clasp, engraved with foliate detail
Lid remaining upright upon a pair of brass hinges
Recessed carved handles to each end
Raised prominently upon four shaped bracket feet
