Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown bright yellow and gold flecks Italian art glass ribbed with spike corners bowl / cigar ashtray. Documented to designer Ercole Barovier for the the Barovier e Toso company. The color is a made with pigments added to the glass, and has a "Bullicante" control bubble technique. The bowl is profusely covered, inside and out with heavy gold leaf. The gold clings to each bubble making them stand out, and creating a unique pattern. The body of the bowl has a ribbed design, with pulled corners and folded down sides, creating a unique shape. Would make a great display piece on any desk, dresser of coffee table. Use it as a catchall, candy dish or ashtray. Mid-century era. Measures 5 1/2" on each side, 7 1/2" across the bowl x 2 7/8" high.
