This antique chaise bench from France is flanked by … more A French carved-wood and upholstered reclining sofa-bench from the 18th century. This antique chaise bench from France is flanked by a pair of upholstered and camel-back armrests, which retain their original hinged hardware; allowing them to adjust from upright/vertical position to a reclining position at either end of the bench. A tufted cushion makes up the seating area, which is seated upon a wooden frame with nicely scallop-carved skirting about all sides, and raised upon four cabriole style carved legs. The chocolate cut-velvet upholstery is in good condition, and is accented with a nail-head trim about the seat edges and outlining the arms. This piece is in great condition for its age! This 18th century French early recliner will make a wonderful seating addition to your home. less
