This Richard Bernstein rare vintage 1980 lithograph print " Carole Bouquet " Warhol's Interview Magazine cover Pop Art poster is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print poster is published by Mirage Editions, printed in 1980. It features an original artwork created by Bernstein of the French actress Carole Bouquet for the cover of the 1978 November issue of Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine. The outstanding bold iconic artwork is in Bernstein's signature vibrant Pop Art style.
Carole Bouquet ( B.1957 ) is a French actress and former fashion model for Chanel, who has appeared in more than 50 films since 1977. She starred as the Bond Girl in " For Your Eyes Only " in 1981, " Too Beautiful For You " in 1989, and is also recognized for her role in Luis Bunuel's Surrealist classic " That Obscure Object of Desire " in 1977.
Richard Bernstein ( 1939 - 2002 ) most widely known as the creator of Any Warhol's Interview Magazine's distinctive covers for 17 years. His paintings with their foundation in Pop Art and Classical portraiture offer a synthesis of style that is strikingly powerful.
In 1984 Bernstein released his first book " Megastar " commemorating his fine celebrity portraits. The 1st edition of the coffee table book, printed in three languages was completely sold out making it a valuable collector's item. In 1990 he was commissioned by the World federation of the United Nations Association to create the 1st postal stamp for the new decade, placing him in the company of Warhol, Calder, and Picasso who have been similarly honored. The work of Richard Bernstein can be viewed in the exhibitions and collections of major museums around the world.
The rare out of print collector's Pop Art poster is signed in the print plate by the artist. It measures 23 1/2" W X 35" H. It is printed on heavyweight paper stock with vibrant ink colors. It is in excellent " like new " vintage condition consistent with age, and light signs of handling. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference.
