This Marc Chagall vintage 1972 rare Expressionist lithograph print " The Sun of Poros " 1968, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print is printed in Italy in 1972. The hand tipped print is a page from an authentic vintage artists publication. The vintage lithograph print features an artwork image originally created by Chagall in 1968 titled " The Sun of Poros ".
Marc Chagall ( 1887 - 1985 ) the French Russian born Jewish Expressionist artist is known for both his sense of color and his fluid aesthetic. His early Modernist artworks explore concepts and themes of spirituality, angelic influences, and the Jewish cultural life human experience. Chagall is commonly regarded as the quintessential preeminent jewish artist of The 20th Century. His mastery of the expressive language of color, and creations in nearly every medium and form of art won him recognition as a leading figure in world Modern Art.
The lithograph print plate is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand on 3 corners. The lithograph print measures 8 3/4" W X 8 3/4" H, on a page that is 9" W X 12 1/4" H. There is unrelated text on the reverse back side of the page that refers to a different artwork image. It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. It has never been framed, and is now being offered here for an excellent price. less
