Piet Mondrian ( 1872 - !944 ) was a dutch born Modernist Abstract painter and art theorist. He is considered to be one of the most important Abstract artists of all time. he evolved a non representational form which he termed Neoplasticism. Influenced by Cubism, the early Modernist geometric artworks were considered quite avant garde for the time in which they were created. Artworks by Mondrian are included in the permanent collections of the most prestigious museums in the world.
