A rare and surprising carved wood mask crowns the wearer with a shell like device and central cabochon. Ribbon work outlines the eyes and face above a hand hold in rocaille design with a central cabochon. All painted gold with black over gesso on carved wood. Gilt verso in dull ochre paint.
