The chair is structurally very sturdy and does not need any work. It can be used to sit in not just for display if you desire to use it in that manor! There is one break on the seat back that I have photographed. The seat cushions have some wear to them consistent with age and use of the item and age. The chair has been painted white at some point. It has some chips. You could put a fresh coat of paint if you wanted. less
