This Amadeo Modigliani rare vintage 1990's Italian large fine art silkscreen serigraph print " Testa Scultorea " 1911, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art silkscreen serigraph print is published by Acte III, Florence. Printed in Italy in the 1990's in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an artwork image originally created by Modigliani in 1911 titled " Testa Scultorea " ( Sculptural Head ).
Amadeo Clemente Modigliani ( 1884 - 1920 ) was an Italian born Expressionist painter and sculptor of a Sephardic Jewish background. Known for his portraits and nudes in a Modern style characterized by elongation of faces and figures. The outstanding unclassifiable artworks, are widely considered to be some of the most important early Modern artworks ever created. Art works by Modigliani are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
In the early 1900's, Modigliani sought to establish a new sculptural language, inspired by African and Ancient Greek objects. This artwork image " Testa Scultorea " 1911, is taken from one of the sketches Modigliani made in preparation for his sculptural heads which were characterized with his signature stylized features. For this study he included Abstract splashes of red to enhance the delicate blue line work.
The rare out of print large format silkscreen serigraph print measures 23 1/2" W 35 3/8" H. It is printed on Italian Tintoretto 250g archival paper stock with a matte finish.
It is in excellent " like new " very clean condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. less
