Set of 6 plates and a French earthenware barbott dish from Fives-Lille, dating from around 1890. Designed to serve both artichokes and asparagus, these pieces have images of the two plants. Green enamel is applied to a white background, with a deep purple on the spikes of the asparagus. The globe head of the artichoke plant forms a space for the accompaniment sauce. The plate, an elegant model, also has the same king's head as the dish, which adds to the whole a touch of sophistication. The plate is numbered 1028.
