This Helen Frankenthaler very rare vintage 1993 Abstract Expressionist fine art lithograph print custom framed large exhibition poster " Freefall : Trial Proof " 1992, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Abstract Expressionist fine art poster is published by The National Gallery of Art, Washington on the occasion of the " Helen Frankenthaler : Prints " exhibition. Printed in 1993 in an unnumbered limited edition by Tyler Graphics Ltd., Mount Kisco New York, Fotofolio / Artpost Editions. It features an artwork image originally created by Frankenthaler in 1992 titled " Freefall : Trial Proof ", artist's archive copyright 1993 Helen Frankenthaler.
Helen Frankenthaler ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American Abstract Expressionist painter of a liberal Jewish background, and is a major contributor to the history of Postwar Modernist painting. She exhibited her work for over six decades, spanning several generations of Abstract painters while continuing to produce vital and ever changing new art works.
Her work has been the subject of several retrospective exhibitions including The Museum of Modern Art New York, The Whitney Museum, The Jewish Museum, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has been exhibited worldwide since the 1950's, and was awarded The National Medal of the Arts in 2001. Artworks by Frankenthaler are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
Tyler Graphics Ltd. founded by Kenneth E. Tyler is considered by many to be the most accomplished Contemporary master printer and publisher. Tyler is an arts educator and prominent figure in the American Post War revival of fine art limited edition printmaking. His technically advanced expertise and willingness to experiment on a bold scale drew many famous and influential artists to his workshops, among them David Hockney, Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns.
The rare out of print framed Abstract Expressionist large format exhibition poster measures 25" W X 36 1/2" H X 1 5/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern satin finish whitewashed white oak wood museum box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition with very light signs of handling.
