It is Strong - Substantially Made out of Heavy Gauge Indigenous Wood Splint. Note that the Top Rim is Wrapped - Woven with a Strap of Some Type of Thick Leather or Hide Material. This Basket has been Used For Years and along the way has Developed that Wonderful Authentic Rustically Age,Use and Weathered Appearance - Patina that Cannot be Duplicated. It Still Retains its Original Braided Cotton Straps & Buckles. It is in Structurally Strong and Sound Condition as Well. It has a Few Areas of Basket Weave Loss on the Upper Right Side.
