The novel was later made into a film with a star-studded cast, including Maggie Smith, Daniel Day-Lewis, Helena Bonham Carter, Julian Sands, Denholm Elliot, Judi Dench, and others.

The work is exquisitely composed and the brushwork is so subtle as to be almost "print-like". A stunning, custom made, gilt edge, solid black walnut (the frame is signed) frame provides the work with a suitable mounting. It is executed in oil/board. The work is signed and there is notational documentation and the artists notation to the frame as well, verso.
