MINT CONDITION! Backed on clean linen. The French National Loterie was launched in 1933. A very well known event occurred when a barber drew a 5 million Franc win on the first draw! After that notoriety, artists were hired to publicize the loterie.nationale. In the mid-century years, artist Lefor Openo created a series of posters inspired by the popular "Commedia dell'arte". This Italian professional theater popularized the Pierrot character and his love, Columbine. These famed characters date back to the 17th-18th centuries. We have recently acquired 4 posters from this series. This one features Pierrot with a winning ticket and declares "Pierrot is not stupid. He has a Loterie Nationale ticket!"
