This Mr. Brainwash " Michael Jackson : Toulouse Lautrec " rare lithograph print Pop Art poster is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is printed in 2010 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the artist's first solo New York exhibition " Life is Beautiful : Icons ". The exhibit was located in a multi-story 15,000 square foot warehouse in New York City's Meatpacking District. The poster is plate signed in the print by the artist. The rare out of print poster was only available at the exhibition.
The world famous French born and Los Angeles based " Mr. Brainwash " is a name used by the Street artist Theirry Guetta. known for his colorful social commentary Street Art Pop Art style images of iconic people. His vibrant palette and imitation of Pop artists like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring add a puckish wink to his intentionally derivative persona.
Sly and playful with his juxtaposition of the cultural idols of the past and today he portrays including Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Mr. Brainwash works among a new group of world art infamous stars including Banksy and Shepard Fairey.
In this poster Mr. Brainwash reimagines The King of Pop Michael Jackson in Henri De Toulouse Lautrec's famous artwork " Training of the New Girls by Valentin at The Moulin Rouge ( Dressage des Nouvelles, par Valentin le Desosse ) " 1889 - 1890.
The Pop Art poster print is printed on smooth finish paper stock with vibrant ink colors. The poster measures 28 1/2" W X 23" H.
